A little bit about myself

My background

Bio

My name is Eric Zinger and for those who do not know me, please let me introduce myself.  I was born in East Meadow (Long Island) and attended the University of Maryland where I graduated with a degree in Finance.  I then returned to New York, spending a few years in Manhattan, before moving to North Washington Avenue in Hartsdale in 2013 with my wife Megan to purchase a home and start our family.  Our son Zachary is almost 5 and my daughter Emily is 2.5. You’ll see us walking our corgi Pete around the neighborhood.

I have been an active member of the community since arriving. I am the on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and the current President of the Hartsdale Neighbors Association. Hartsdale Neighbors Association (“HNA”) is a volunteer driven community based organization whose goal is to promote, advance and protect the interests of the property owners and residents across all Hartsdale neighborhoods.

I currently work for a Financial Technology company. My work focuses on collateral management and other Treasury areas for Hedge Fund clients. I hold the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

I ran for Greenburgh Town Council in the Democratic Primary in 2019 and unfortunately was unsuccessful in that effort. However that does not mean the work stops. I have converted my campaign site into a source of local news and information about Greenburgh. I believe that local news is important and wanted to provide an additional source of information for people to follow their local government. My goal is to inform and engage the people of Greenburgh, advocate for issues I think our important, and work to better the Greenburgh community. To get in touch with me, please email eric@ericzinger.com.

What Led Me to Greenburgh

I moved to Hartsdale because I was looking to start the next chapter of my life with my wife Megan. We had spent several years in the city, and it was time to head for the suburbs. We were looking for an affordable area, with an easy commute into Manhattan, that would give us more space then a 1 BR apt in Manhattan. We found Hartsdale and have felt right at home ever since. We love downtown Hartsdale, the Parks, and the proximity to downtown White Plains and Manhattan.

Pete Zinger

This is my dog Pete. He enjoys long walks around Hartsdale and supervising the activities at the East Rumbrook Dog Park. He is proud that I am the Secretary for the Friends of the East Rumbrook Dog Park. In the past year we have worked with the town to get a shade structure installed to provide comfort on the hot summer days. Want to see more of Pete? Check out his instagram page here.
